The first four weeks of the course will focus on writing which includes writing rules, how to confirm a story, word placement, and reducing a newspaper story to four to five sentences. This practice is designed to sharpen student’s writing skills. There may be guest who will bring their expertise in the field of news. Class sessions will be on six consecutive Mondays at 7 pm Central.
The remaining two weeks will be a mixture of writing and using those same news stories to anchor a newscast.
